Un Bautismo y una Boda!

This week we had a wedding and a baptism, so you could say it was a pretty good week!!!!

The Baptism of David went well. He really is such a cool kid with a great testimony. He willl be a future missionary one day. It went smoothly and a lot of people came to support him, late, but they came. Felicidades David!

Itzel and Dante got married so that Itzel could get baptized next week! She looked so gorgeous. I felt so weird at a wedding haah. We only stayed for an hour before the music started and saw them sign the papers and such. Its a little different how they do it here but, it was beautiful nonetheless. Im super excited to see them progress. They are a young couple and Dante is a menos activo. They have grown since we have started teaching them and i know one day they will be able to be sealed in the temple.

We did divisions with the hermanas of Porvenir this week. We had an awesome experience with the Lupitos as they call them. haha. Guadelupe and Guadelupe. Gotta love Mexico. Well Guadelupe ( husband) was into drugs and such and was going to get baptized with Hermana Junca and Sappenfield, but couldnt do to differnt reasons with that. THEN, he was picked up by Hermana Peña and Melendez, but still couldnt get baptized because he wasnt married and him and his wife had a lot of problems. Then he moved and Hermana Juarez and Canaan started teaching him again AND his wife. He fixed things with his wife, stopped using drugs, and has a STRONG desire to get baptized. He said, ” Like the hermanas say, I testify that God lives and that this IS his gospel.” His testimony was SO strong and the spirit was working so crazy. Then we had his wife read the first vision and she started balling. She told us how she has never felt this before and she KNOWS it is true. She has never felt so sure of something before in her life. They are going this week to figure things out to get married. They live in a one room apartment without anything, literally not even a bed. But, they have such a strong testimony it was such a great example to me. The spirit works with the people that are ready. Lupe was prepared by many great missionaries before and now FINALLY its his time. And hes inviting his wife to share it with him. I was so grateful to be part of this experience with them and help them gain a testimony a little bit more. I love this work!

ALso, a return missionary bought us tacos because it was my 1 year. He literally just got home from his mission. I think he might of loved me. But hey, we got tacos so, i wasnt mad about it. It was a good day of divisions:)

Speaking of.  I HAVE ONE  YEAR; WHATTTTT!!!!!???

See yall soon. But in the mean time, im gonna be working hard until the end. I dont want to “die” as they say about the missionaries who get really lazy towards the end of their missions. Endure to the end my friends!

Have a great week and enjoy the snow! I miss it! Love you lots and smile at someone. Say kind words. Get a valentine! ❤

Food for Thought:

Ether 2: 24-25

Talks a lot about how the bro of Jared was preparing to get the light for the barges.

24 For behold, ye shall be as a whale in the midst of the sea; for the mountain waves shall dash upon you. Nevertheless, I will bring you up again out of the depths of the sea; for the windshave gone forth out of my mouth, and also the rains and the floods have I sent forth.

25 And behold, I prepare you against these things; for ye cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds which have gone forth, and the floods which shall come. Therefore what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea?

The Lord asks HIM. What would ye that i do? We should always work this hard in our lives that the Lord has confidence in us. ” Okay you worked hard and put in time, what do you want me to do?”

Many times is the other way around. What should we do today Lord? Which is fine. we SHOULD do that. But sometimes, we should gain this confidence enough in the Lord to have him say, Good work, What do you want me to do to help you complete with this task?

Work hard my friends and the Lord will do the rest!
